Our youth exchange in Kosky was more than just a program—it was a transformative experience of learning, friendship, and diversity. Over five days, 42 young people from different countries came together to share their cultures, form bonds, and create connections that transcended borders.
Day 1: breaking the Ice
From the very beginning, Marek and Žaneta, our facilitators, guided us in forming a united group. Activities like "human bingo" helped us get to know one another by exploring our similarities and differences. In the afternoon, we visited the picturesque town of Třeboň and participated in "speed dating" dynamics, which allowed us to connect with nearly everyone in record time. The day ended with cultural presentations from Estonia and the Czech Republic, where we savored traditional dishes and learned about their customs.
Day 2: reflection and cohesion
The second day focused on group cohesion. From non-verbal dynamics to the profound experience of the Human Library, we explored communication and empathy in new ways. Listening to the life stories of people from different countries left us with unforgettable lessons about resilience and diversity. In the evening, Italy and Spain delighted us with their food, dances, and traditions, immersing us in an authentic cultural celebration.
Day 3: exploring Český Krumlov
On the third day, we ventured to the charming town of Český Krumlov, a medieval gem and UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, a treasure hunt challenged us to uncover hidden corners and work as a team. It was the perfect combination of tourism, fun, and learning.
Day 4: creativity in Action
The morning kicked off with games blending laughter and quick thinking, like "I’m looking for someone who…". Later, group workshops challenged us to create inclusive activities, fostering reflection on the importance of accessibility. In the evening, Portugal wowed us with their sangria, desserts, and a presentation that immersed us in their rich culture.
Day 5: farewell with gratitude
The final day was a mix of reflection and celebration. Debates inspired by the game Debatable pushed us to respect differing perspectives, while an international ping-pong tournament brought laughter and camaraderie. The awarding of Youthpasses, paired with heartfelt words exchanged between secret friends, was the perfect conclusion to this transformative experience.
Kosky gifted us with friendships, new perspectives, and invaluable lessons on diversity and international cooperation. Thank you to everyone involved!
